Gtir overheating after installing thermostat?

Hey guys, my gtir was runing fine with no thermostat in it but today i installed a new one and now its overheating why would this be? Tia

Do a compression test 1st then determine if headgasket. You could also try k seal. But if its overheating the fans should cut in

I did a comp test not so long ago an was fine but ill do another one , fans arnt working but even with them manualy hooked up its still overheating, whats a k seal? Cheers

I think if i remember theres a screw that you take out to bleed system. Someone else will prob confirm this.

Its a screw or bolt im not at my pulsar today so cant confirm but ill check on the other engine i got. Just out shopping so will defo look at it in 30 mins.

It's a bolt to left of stat housing at top. If it ain't come off should be yellow or silver sticker square just above that

Cool hopefully he should located it i checked on the engine i have and its all bare so i wasn't sure but good that you've help Johnny

You need to open the bleed bolt on the stat housing when filling the system. once coolant starts to run out with no air in it close this off and continue to fill the system until it is full which is something like 5 liters . The manual gives you a diagram and shows you where to put a paper clip under a part of the rad cap then put it on. Run up to temp then let cool refill as necessary. I've done this a few times and it worked fine. Manual helps for the paper clip carry on as i not going to try to explain it or why you do this........

Good advice but I read so many times people struggling to fill/bleed the system and say they are a nightmare I have done it so many times on Pulsar's with and without heater matrix connected and only once have I had to use the bleed bolt and never had the cars over heat

I didnt really have that issue either. Just got to make sure system is flushed proper no blockages. Make sure the cooling fans work as plenty of people have the issue when the fans dont kick in
