6 speed

Will a 6 speed box designed for a sunny/almera fwd fit (some how) a GTIR? I have just seen a recardo one for sale at £4k

it will probably fit the engine, but where exactly are you going to bolt the transfer box up to

I may be a little naive, could you not get the origional (gtir)casing modified to fit the internals from the 6 speed, or do you think the recardo will be completely different?????

fooked if i know, if its anything like the pug gti6 boxes the casing will be abit longer to make room for the extra gear

what about out of an X trail? or are they mounted the other way

:lol: just go out & but a proper one asi was quoted about 8k for one some years back they were called grasshoppers are they still runing:lol: they dont cost that much:shocked: if u got the cash then why no splash out

the ricardo box is seq 6 speed! slightly differant to the gtir gearbox.
plus you have to machine the engine block, as the starter mounts to the gearbox bell housing. and is fwd only.
