Drop Fubar Andy a pm or you can try TDi North in Warrington but they won't be cheap. Failing that I've got a mate who can do it in Warrington.

What you need is a Pulsar suspension geek living in Southport......

I knew of one but he's now a gazillion miles away so not much use

Andy, I need you to pick up those bits to move on and there are some DIY tracking plates you can borrow. Not great but accurate to 0.05 deg with a little care which is as much as you need. You can use them to do a 4 wheel alignment too with my cunning plan but it takes more time.

A Camber guage is only about £40 and you're up and running.

Andy Fubar seems pleased with his Caster mod, won't don't you try it first on Mark's car in case you mess it up ;-)

Failing all that, I think there is a proper race prep garage in Churchtown IIRC that I visited once ages ago. Stumo knows them better than me but again they'll be expensive.

How did you set the ride height mate ?

If that's out at each corner, that'll effect the way the car handles. And you can still set the camber and toe (castor is non-adjustable on the GTiR) with the ride heights out !

The damping rates for each strut will effect handling greatly too, if they're not even across each 'axle'.

And then there's the tyre pressures.......

campbellju the garage in churchtown do you mean saint racing if you do me mate owns it an he takes ages to do stuff i.e if i book it into him now then next year he might be able to do it

I knew i should of fitted them be for you fcuk off jump on a plane back an set mine up shouldnt take you long haha

Kev@Apex i will give them a bell tomorrow

Youngsyp i set the ride height by messuring the arch to the centre of the wheel then to check it was all level i counted the threads from the top of the hub to the lock nut on the spring platform on all the legs, with the damper rating i set them all to soft (L) then turned it back 2 notchs all round

Mark, it sounds like you've done all the hard work by setting the ride heights.

If you don't do anything fancy like the castor mod, you can buy a camber guage and set the fronts in about an hour easy. When I say camber guage I mean one of these:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Digital-Spirit-Level-600mm-LCD-Display-NEW_W0QQitemZ270223967946QQihZ017QQcategoryZ11704QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Not exactly expensive, dead simple to use and accurate to 0.1 deg!!

Then just take the car to get the tracking done. Before I started doing my tracking too (Which takes longer without professional tools) I used to just take it to Jed at AJ Autos who does all the jobs I hate like clutches  He used to be based by Asda in town but is now at Banks.

He used to be Peter Wheeler's TVR race mechanic amongst other things but nowadyas he specialises in Mini's. He might try to convince you to put a bit of toe-in on the car but tell him to got the toe-out side of neutral on the front. He can do the rear tracking too but keep that neutral to toe-in if you like to chuck the car around. If you're a smooth driver a smidge of toe out might help. He can't do do a 4 wheel alignment as he doesn'yt have the tools but he can align all 4 wheels with a keen eye.

I think he charges about £35 an hour so you're looking at another £70 but it will be right as he is a perfectionist. If you're interested, I'll need to know your car spec (Just suspension and wheels will be fine) Say if you want something all year round or dry biased and whether you like to chuck the car around or drive it like a mid engined car.

After trying loads of settings I've got a pretty good idea what works and what doesn't.

Maybe you can help Andy with his car then ;-)

As Jim's said, sounds like you've done all the hard work mate.

I like the idea of that 'camber gauge' too. Think I might buy on for myself. I guess you just cable tie it to each wheel, with the car on a level surface. And measure the vertical angle ?!

Campbellju i know jed who your on about he built me mates mini turbo engine for him think i might have to get 1 of the spirit levels an have a play about in work an i can do the tracking aswell its handy working in a garage

The setup im using is D2 coilovers an 7.5x17 wolfrace Zen wheels with 205/40/17 tyres, not sure what the offset is on them as they were on the car when i bought it

So ive got the ride height sorted then pleased with that since the last time i played with them was on me fiesta turbo about 5 ago
