why does my am-performance screamer pipe bolted to the 3071r sound like the exhaust is blowing even on idle it sounds like a tractor

you sure your wastegate is closed properly?

yeh im pretty sure it is,the turbo is brand new,cant remember it bein open

have you checked your exhaust gaskets?

i put the mongoose back on and it sounds fine just with the screamer am pipe it sounds like that

if your actuator is set wrong the waste gate will stay open if your sure no gaskets are blowing you ever have a cracked housing( although unlikely if you say turbo is new) or wastegate not closing properly!

A screamer pipe will always sound like a tractor at idle!!
It's the same as having a big f00k off hole in your exhaust.
It'll only sound good at high revs, Thats why they call it a screamer!

its cause the tube which goes into the turbo outlet dosent seal correctly, mines the same, gas leaks past the tube and into the screamer bit

If the turbo is interally gated, then the waste gate should be closed at idle, (or very close to it). If the matching on the downpipe/elbow is near perfect, then the noise shouldn't be there until the wastegate opens and lets out the waste gate exhaust and noise.
