Pretty sure thats a custom one.
Go to www.mercurymotorsport.com.au they sell a twin dump pipe for the gtir
(think its under Whats new, or specials)
this is by far the best dump pipe that has been made, and yes u can retain the aircon as well and with the conversion rate at the moment, u guys would get it for near nothing..
Not sure if this one has already been posted up on this forum though but worth a look...
tests done on a standard gtir, with standard exhaust and just using the twin dump pipe. it made 20kw at the wheels through the mid range, but similar, power at the top end.(this is probably cause the standard exhast was still on.)

If you want one in the UK, I got mine made by Hayward & Scott in Essex. This includes the elbow and downpipe.

It cost £822. But, that's with their full custom exhaust system as well. And, they had to make the jig up for my car as it was the first they did. So, should be cheaper than that now.

Does the mercury one require you to cut your downpipe and weld a flange on to mate up as it's very short.Or does it come with any extra pipes to take it to cat?

I read that hayward and scott had done one on the yahoo groups so his must have been the first as they already had a jig made up around the standard elbow when i got mine.

Think it was designed around aircon which is what i'm not overly happy with, cos with it removed theres loads more room to come off with a 3" straight off the exhaust housing. The actual work was spot on, goes from 3 inch to flexi joint to 3" then tapers down to 2 1/2" to mate up with the goose de-cat.

If i can be arsed i'll get the dump pipe end chopped off and a new section put in.

photos are gone though, must have removed them from photo bucket

heres mine fitted, you can see what i mean about it being designed around aircon.

got lots more room to come off the turbo, although its definately better than standard and depending on what you read if the dump pipe is to large you can get problems with overboost and bad turbulence, i could always adapt mine to seperate pipe for the waste gate, dont think it would be that hard, just get a seperator machined and welded into the flange and add a smaller section of pipe coming off of whats already there. Could return it into the front pipe or run it as a screamer.

skiddus -
sashas one is the really short one (although both are fairly short)

and yes, you will have to have your existing front pipe modified for either to mate up

and no, neither come with any extra pipes

BUT mercury do have the option of a matching front pipe that goes to the cat - with the dump included it is $1180au (on their site also)

That was me posting on the yahoo group. I wanted to keep my aircon which, made it a real pain in the a$£e for them. The whole thing is 3" to cat pipe which, then tapers to 2.5" to the backbox. They wouid do you 3" all the way through if you wanted ! I'm about to take mine back for some modifications so I can fit a Whiteline rear ARB. The work is first class. The second one I have had made by them. I always think that you should change the elbow and dump pipe first on the Pulsar, as the outlet from the standard one is only about 2". Seems fairly pointless putting a bigger pipe after that restriction !
