Another Quaiffe Question...

Is 5th gear modified in the gearset...???

Reason I ask is that I've recently had the car setup again (now running 1.4bar)... 4 days later I was sitting at 90mph... Dropped the right foot... Hit 120mph at blew out 5th gear... I can hear rattling at the bottom of the gearbox... I can drive the car from 1st through to 4th but put it into 5th and there is nothing there... Its like being in neutral... Think I managed to strip the teeth of 5th...

Just wondering if the same will happen with the Quaiffe Gear Set...

course its strengthened, you don't pay £2000 and not have a stronger 5th :shock:

how sure are you?

I actually thought the gear itself is just a nissan 5th gear brand new.

I thought the uprated ones were 1-4

Well i can't see it being a std nissan one, as i know somebody who stripped std 5th gear and then had the quaiffe fitted, so they wouldnt just fit another std 5th if they keep stripping it.
I'm 99.995 sure quaiffe has all 5 gears new, i'll ask Ian later

i had my quaife box built by HITEQ in wigan about 6000 miles ago now and the bo-x is the bollocks and u get a wicked wine if people dont hear your exhaust they will hear the box .all the gears are uprated go on the quaife website. i had the box built because i trashed 2 in 1 year
