omg suspension lesson needed
right people i need to explain suspension to u.
first off u have fixed rate sports suspension which is basically a stiff shock and springs with no adjustment possible.
coil overs are a stiff shock and stiff springs but u can adjust coilovers on preload, i.e the height the car sits
compression, i.e how much you felt of that last bump you just went over.
rebound,i.e how your car reacts when it hits the bump.
for those really wishin to push the limit u can get coilovers with separte oil cooler!!
when you buy coil overs a specialist should fit and set them up. they should ask you what type of driving you do and set the car up for it with a reasonable ride unless its a track only R. they should also perform corner weighting an set camber , toe -in, toe- out, kpi kastor and the rest.
if ur not happy take it back an make them adjust it. i say this because they should set it up to ur satisfaction and that coilovers have to be adjusted equally and there is a shit load of settings. example 10 preload settings, 10 compression settings , 10 rebound settings gives u a possible 1000 different settings on each shock. get it wrong and u will fuck up ur handling so get the experts to do it till ur happy .
