b&m short shifter, gearstick doesnt self central

hi,

my pulsar already had a b&m short shifter fitted when i bought it, since iv had it if i put to the right (5th/reverse) it springs back to the middle, but if i put it to the left (1st/2nd) it stays to the left, its getting really annoying now changing from 2nd to 3rd, does anyone know what could be wrong?

also, how do people rate the short shifters on these? i really dont seem to get on with it very well but not sure if its just got a problem somewhere.

Make sure the spring is ok on the underside.
The general view on them is they worsen an already poor shift feel. You can vastly improve the oe set up by making sure that there is no wear in any of the bushes/joints and also replacing the stabiliser bush with poly at the box end and a solid mount at the shifter end.

mine doesnt self centre at all, never has, fine by me
