blatz just make the consult cable (and the logging software) - they are in nz

there is also another company called plms who make consult cables (slightly more expensive) - they are in oz
http://www.plmsdevelopments.com/consult_if.shtml

the software that displays the ecu data (nissan datascan) is developed by a guy called thomas, and is available slightly cheaper from him directly:
http://home.curl.aunz.net/tpkolo/DataScan.htm

there are also freeware ones that do similar things, although less stable and polished:
ECUTalk: http://www.ecutalk.com/ (also has a pocketpc version)
SRTalk: http://www.zcontrol.net/downloads.asp
Calumsult: http://web.utk.edu/~cjohns32/calumsult/
TECU: http://eccs.hybridka.com/viewtopic.php?t=263
ConZult: http://300zx-twinturbo.com/conzult/downloads.htm (very basic)
Consultan (MacOSX): http://members.cox.net/~epooch/consultan/

i have the blatz cable and the datascan software - they work very well,
great for easily checking ecu codes without having to count flashing lights and for seeing how the sensors are behaving...
(although i need to get the logging software to make it easier to review the data)

we used it last year to record all the info from the cars at a dyno (rolling road) day in oz,
but because we didn't have the logging software we saved the raw data and imported it into excel, then sorted it into a cohesive format (which took forever!)

there is quite a bit of discussion on the different software (and rom tuning) on:
http://www.tangentrix.com/forums/index.php
http://eccs.hybridka.com/index.php
http://forum.ztechz.net/
to name a few...

hth,
shalom

do you no if they do a cable for a PDA???
for most typical pda's, just get a normal serial consult interface cable, then serial sync cable, and a male-male null modem adaptor. as long as the pda is pocket pc 2000 or better, it should run ecutalk ok. note that not all pda's will be able to work with just the serial sync and null modem, so best to find out for urself how to use serial capabilities on it. theres a brief list here on different pda's and what they need
