I want an engine which is lumpy but revs ferociously at the top end:roll:
 , I'm on either 270 or 272 and they are lumpy, can't imagine what 280 would be like :twisted:Odin said:Chuck some 280's in there that should do the job ;-)

If you want something that is free revving then you need the bottm end lightened and balanced with a lightweight flywheel.steve963 said:but want some brutal top end power, with real free revving , lol
Damn i`ve been rumbledOdin said:Those lumpy cams will get those 15 year old chavet's nickers wet quicker than a big Mc and Fry's        .

A good engine builder will check the condition of your springs before re using them, Mine where fine for the rev range I plan on using.Jonesy said:Is it worth fitting uprated valve springs and guides when re-building the head. What does this improve, or prevent from happening.
Are the springs only worth getting for high reving engines.
point takenOdin said:To be honest you don't want to be producing all that power so far up the rev range with a standard engine, Unless you've had a rebuild with all the balancing work and matching head work I don't see the point, And I doubt very much that your engine would last long.
If you want a bit more power and keep the engine with in it's safe operating range then bung a set of HKS 264's in it.
