car died tonight?

my car just cut out earlier and wont start again.fuel pump is working and it turns over fine.its like its getting a very weak spark but not checked properly yet.it will splutter like its wanting to fire but not quite able to.it stinks of fuel too so im guessing the coil or the small amp for the ignition spark?im going to try them anyway.fauit check is all clear too.any ideas?

try starting it after half hour! if the modules overheated it will start when cooled down. then you will need another module.
if not it maybe dizzy cap or rotor arm worn possibly

A fault code check wwould be a useful starting point. (but reading your whole post would be even better:doh: :lol: )
If nothing shows up, suspect things like rotor arm fallen off etc.

fauit check is all clear too.any ideas?

lol i would point my finger straight at the coil, or also check to make sure your ht leads are not shorting out on the ic if its still top mounted. had this problem on anouther r recently with some shit aftermarket leads on it

Take the dizzy cap off and check the rotor arm is still in place.

If you do actually have a weak spark then probably coil or amp.

took the cap off today and the shaft that the rotor arm on had come loose.tightened it up and its fine again now.
