Changing the bonnet cable

right,

got the cable to finally release and open the bonnet, but ive got a replacement cable and this putting on to replace the knackered one.

how easy is this to do? im trying to do minor things myself to help the learning process, but would i be best left leaving it to my mechanic? or should i spend one afternoon taking it nice and easy and see how i go?

It shouldnt be that hard lad. fact the R is the worst car i have ever worked on.
What i tend to do is unhook the cable from both ends tie some electrical wire on to really tight.

Then pull it through the gromet in the blukhead. untill the wire comes through then tie the wire to the new cable and pull it back through.

its best to wrap around the wire a good couple of inches alopng the cable and then wrap insulation tape around to secure it. :!:
