clutch fluid

when i took my engine out i lost quite a bit of clutch fluid.

so when the engine goes back in i'm going to drain all the old stuff and put fresh oil in.

Got a few questions:

how much does it take?

which grade should i use? 3.0, 4.0, 5.1?

any special way of bleeding the system?

Need to get this done before sat so a quick reply would be appricated :p - > Karl

cant rember how much it takes but i seem to recall a 1 litre bottle was more than adequate.

I think the grade is marked on the cap on the resivour (think its dot 3 or 4) and should be ok as its not really going to get up to any massive temp like brake fluid

just bleed the system as you would if you were doing a brake caliper.

The 5.1 dot is a waste of money then?

so just keep pumping the clutch pedal to get rid of any air bubble's and locks?

Bleed the same as brakes crack open the bleed nipple as you pedal down shut off before pedal up.Andy Id still use Dot 5.1 synthetic maybe a little better on the rubber seals in the master cylinder etc.

yup keep bleeding to get air out and till new fluid comes through. i always use 2 man techinque instead of 1 way valves but i am a bit old fashioned like that
