just had a helix organic clutch fitted along with a new release bearing. Everything seems ok untill the clutch pedal is fully pressed to the floor and there is a metallic rubbing sound as if something is rubbing on the clutch cover fins. The biting point is also very close to the floor. It does go into gear and drives. Any suggestions to the problem will be appreciated. thanks.

The bearing is brand new. The noise was there as soon as the car was started after the clutch was fitted when the pedal was pressed. I cant see the bearing having time to collapse possibly if this happened after a few hours of driving maybe. Im gonna take it for a drive today and see how it goes. Whats the worst that can happen!!!!

Maybe the bearing has been fitted back to front ;-) ......

Or your peddle box has broken...

Its over adjusted and its pushing to far into the clutch fins:shock: , i would adjust the pedal so the biting point is higher and not so close to the floor, then try that, if not strip the box off and check the clutch plate etc.

Took the car for a drive after adjusting the biting point. It drives perfect when in gear. With the biting point being adjusted there is more travel in the clutch so when released it travels further which causes the noise to become louder when the pedal is pressed. Its as if there is too much travel in the clutch but it only goes into gear when the noise starts. Any ideas??

definately sounds like a problem with the release bearing, or possibly the fork is bent or not seated properly onto the bearing, which is throwing it out of alignment.
think your gonna have to delve a little deeper with this one! ie take it off to have a look and see.
but before you do, get someone in the car to press clutch pedal down and have a look at fork by slave cylinder to make sure its travelling freely and straight! (with engine off)listen for any unusual noises, grinding grating etc. then do the same test with engine running!

To check if your bearing is away take your fork and pull it towards you if it does the it has collapsed. If it doesn't then it does sound like a bent fork.

What bolt? Having clutch problems at the moment so going to be exploring all avenues to resolve

the bolt near the top of clutch support bracket, just by the top of the clutch pedal
