Clutch Rattle????

When releasing the clutch i hav a rattling noise, dosnt do it all the time, anybody got any ideas what it could be? :?

Gearbox off/engine out... so yes!

let me know if you want to drop the engine and box as i have done mine myself and it's an easy job

Just like to add that my mate had the same problem and presumed it was the release bearing, however i warned him :roll: that it might be the input shaft on the gearbox, but of course he knew best

changed the clutch and bearing and the noise is still there :roll:

so might not be the release bearing

Im gona hav a closer look at it, a heard the rattle and just put it back in the garage, no had time to look at it, i had a full clutch replaced about 4000 miles ago am sure the clutch release bearing was replaced then, should ov lasted longer than that?

Sounds like input shaft bearing to me.
