I have a clutch pedal bracket fitted but when i press the clutch down i get a creaking noise. Thought it was the spring so i put some wd40 on it but no luck. The i opened up the bonnet and got some to press the clutch down...and the noise seemed to be coming from near the gearbox.

what do u think this could be? and how miuch do u think it will cost to get it fixed?

thanks

Could be the slave cylinder £50-60
Or the clutch arm or pivot ££££ (Engine out job) if either break
Or of course something totally different....

you could try spraying the release pivot with wd40 etc whilst someone operates the clutch pedal or put gease in the ball socket that joins thr two before you take out the box

I have the exact same problem, but mine is alleviated with altering the direction pressure when depressing the clutch. Not sure what is wrong or what the sound means?

replace clutch slave about £30.00, get new clutch fluid, if its still noises then u might as well get a new clutch ;)

before i fitted the clutch pedal bracket i jad no noises. Now that i have fitted it there are a few creaks only if u press the clutch down slowly. The creaking in the engine area as stopped suddenly. All the gears go in nice and smoothly and the car runs fine...its just the creaking noise that i am getting which now comes from near the clutch pedal.

hmmmmm maybe ur bulkhead has crack, and the clutch pedal bracket isnt helping take ur speedo out and check for cracks.

the clutch fluid fill up is behind the engine to the left of the driver side strut, a little pot, to change fluid u undo the clutch slave unit on the block and pump the clutch pedal and top up new oil the same time till clean oil comes out then tighten the slave and fill pot to the max, job done

That'll be the clutch pressure plate creaking, they dry up after a period of time ie:(worn) my one is doing it at the moment but i'm trying to put it off until I can be bothered replacing the clutch unit, it is nothing to worry about, just anoying

the nosie from near the engine bay has gone. I am gonna try and replace the clutch fluid. The noise now comes from the pedal area, and it only comes occasionally.
