cv boot change

Hi

How do you take off the C.V joints to replace the boots?, I haven't done one before!

Last time I just used one of those boots you glue together... so I could probably do with learning the right way to do it next time too!

The shafts are on a spring clip inside the cv, they are a pig to get off but using a hide or copper mallet and with the rubber boot cut off you can knock them off...easier to do it with the drive shaft removed from the car too.

so, boot off, put in vice, beat off with mallet fit new boots?

Yes and knock back on

You don't need a vice. Just hold the driveshaft and knock the joint off.
