Yes and Yes

The T series have been around for an age. The GT series of turbos use newer technologhy like ball bearings etc... To compare them have a look at www.atpturbo.com

Cheers for the link

Assuming a standard R engine with an air filter and goose exhaust

When would the R spinup, and when would the RS model spin up?

I.e. is the RS worth the extra?

Many thanks

The gt28r will spin up faster but won't support as much bhp (310bhp) as the standard unit  unless your mixing the gt28r up with the gt28rs :?:

Nope, it lists two models on that site

GT28R
http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/m...OD&Product_Code=GRT-TBO-002&Category_Code=GRT

GT28RS
http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/m...OD&Product_Code=GRT-TBO-004&Category_Code=GRT

R supports up to 310hp, RS supports 350. What I want to know is if the RS is the same turbo but just is more laggy to support the greater power

300bhp or so would be the max i'd be interested in so I want the least laggy option as I noticed the standard T28 doesnt do much until 3500rpm

Go for the GT28r then as its a easier turbo to fit, the gt28rs will require more mods to fit, different intake and outlet piping etc or speak to turbo dynamics about a standard gtir turbo with a roller bearing core for easy fitment, good spool up and bhp all in one 8) and it should come setup with new actuator for your car

That's what I'm gonna do when I upgrade mine.

Stoned, I have the same requirements as you, i.e. as little lag as possible and want just over 300bhp. This should be the cheaper option as well
