dipstick question

Hmm, i know this may seem a daft question, but basically i need to know what length the metal should be on the dipstick.. from handle to tip.. im sure mine has the wrong stick in it as i cant get a true reading and i dont want to drive it until im sure.:der:

haha true.. but as you know, with a gtir stood outside with a full tank of fuel, patience is hard to come by

What do you mean you can't get a true reading? You don't have enough oil?
Ours is a short dipstick with a yellow handle. I'm sure someone can measure it for you. In the meantime, consider topping it up.;-)

Hi, just measured mine for you, 327mm from the rubber stop to the end, hope that helps

much appreciated, i think the previous owner had put a s14 dipstick in or something.. it was catching and grinding in the sump pan.. idiot. Thanks alot
