Oil coolers are really only useful if you pushing the car hard for long periods. I have one for track days but otherwise Im pretty sure it makes no difference for normal driving

I second that i have taken mine off !! on a road car there not really needed the money would be better spent on a large aluminum radiator .

get one with a themostatic sandwich plate and you can use it all year round, better to have the cooling there if the car needs it than not.

as above. motorway / traffic driving in summer gets hot, especially on a leaned out map etc. imho

So don't lean the map out... there I've just saved you the cost and effort! ;-)

If you're just doing 1/4 mile events, you're not really running it long enough to need the oil cooler. Sustained track use is another matter.

I had it up to 120 round the ring. probably would have gone higher If I didn't slow down for it.

Hence Why I have one! Best investment Ive made yet, but again I do track not 1/4 Miles.

I've seen 130 degrees on mine  It was about 6 months after i bought the car on track at castle combe. I decided afterwards it needed an oil cooler.
