Engine Blown? Power down & Knocking...

Hi all,

I think after 12 months of ownership and daily driving I have done some damage...

Engine spec: - apparent rebuild 2 yrs ago, HKS 2mm Head Gasket, Forged Pistons, Rebuilt turbo on 360 bearings, Evo Front Mount, Full Goose, Twin Apexi's, HKS SSQV, Harpd Pipe Kit, Organic Clutch, Running 1.2 Bar.

On way home recently, driving about 80-90mph and noticed decrease in power... was knocking a little before this but thought it shim related/valve clearances... still knocking.

I crawled the 5 miles home and parked up. ITs smoking a lot and even appears to be oil coming out of exhaust, can hear knocking from engine of some sort.

Just wondering can anyone confirm the worst here or say the possibilities?

Still boosting etc but power down like being retarded, and lot of smoke, and bit of knocking.

Have been told more than likely pistons.. prob caused by the shite fuel over here - we don't get anything over 95Ron...

Any thoughts?
Maybe its cause I was thinking of selling up for M3 Evo/Soarer TT... !!

Is it grey/blue smoke?

I'd suggest doing a compression test and check the turbo for play.

Its black smooke...

Did a compression test about 3 months ago and was fine...

turbo still boosting ok and was at last drive so not sure it'd just be that...

I guess a drop to mechanic for an open wide and see what's inside job....

Unless anyone has experienced similar??

Black smoke is overfuelling.

First thing to check is that no boost hoses have blown off. Check carefully as they could almost look connected when the engine's off.

Then check the AFM connections and ground, lambda sensor and coolant sensor.
