you get what you pay for mate, the cheap stuff is more likely to burn or give off more smoke at very high temps.

I use the stuff from rally design,Can't really comment to much how good it is as only been on the manifold for 1000 mile but seems pretty good,and was pretty cheap also.
Only time i have seen smoke come off of it is when it was first fitted and that stopped after the first 10mile.
Did 6-7 20-30minute sessions around brands and it was fine.

On the same subject, Is the turbo blanket/cover really good or is it simply a hype

I have one of thoes blankets and there a pain the harris to fit. But, they do keep the temps down nicely. every little helps
