exhaust upgrade

i want to fit a performance exhaust to my r but dont want to be excessivly loud! any suggestions on manufacturers & suppliers?

Alright me old fruit?

Just got my 2nd R and it has a mongoose system fitted, turbo back. It's got a 3inch tailpipe and it sounds awesome. Flames galore, lol.
I think this is a very popular system. It's not that loud compared to my last R's straight through system and it's track legal if your desire is to track it. I think the limit is 98db on a track. I could be wrong so perhaps somebody can confirm this.
I have seen these systems on the 'Bay for £250ish.

Just thought I would offer my advice.

sounds tempting with the flames!:-D this is my first r and is standard spec so wont be going on track days till the brakes are uprated!! will i get a noticeable power increase with the 'goose system?

mongoose is a good system , decat, 3" tail pipe and will be not hugely noisy just right

not a massive increase in power, but worth doing with normal stage 1 items,

i got the mongoose turbo back system with 5'' tail pretty loud but also gives the extra bhp!

You will probably get a few BHP but nothing huge. It's more of a case of getting rid of the nasty stuff quicker than gaining horses. If you get the other stage 1 stuff done the mongoose, wink wink, will prove itself more than a worthwhile purchase.

Great system, great sound, looks fab and doesn't cost the earth.

Some people class the Goose as excessively loud, depending where you live, the police included. It is loud, but not excessive in my book.

go for hte 3" tail though it looks more like a stock exhuast rather than the big bean can 5" OTT
