FMIC installation problems

Right i've been sold a 2nd hand FMIC of unknown origins, however I believe it's meant to be a copy of the hybrid kit

Basically the pipework clearly cannot get by the washer jet bottle. So what did people do to get around this other than remove the bottle which clearly isnt going to get the car through it's MOT

suggestions anyone?

Cheers

Move it to the boot. I think you only have to meddle with the squirter pipe run, then route the motor wires to the boot :p

Easy as that  I think :?

I think some of the kits are designed so that the water bottle is moved through 90' to clear the pipework ? Dunno, never had to do it..

Yep thats what I'm going to be doing

Btw how much pressure loss did people experience with their FMIC's?

Mine boosts at around the same revs but I seem to have lost about 2psi over the top mount :?
I can compensate for this by adjusting the boost controller to give the turbo more boost, but obviously this will make it work harder.

the pressure drop is about right, IIRC I lost about 3 psi with the forge ! The inlet charge is now colder though, even if its less pressure, so its still more power :D I think its a psychological thing to turn the boost back up again, might as well anyway and take advantage of the better cooling :D ya know you wanna ;)

Yeah I do want too because otherwise on gate pressure I'm running less then standard boost

Still at least thats good for economical motorway runs :D

I'm well suprised it isnt more laggy though with all the pipework.

Another thing I have noticed is there is no longer any chatter and it takes much longer and more boost to dump, I guess with all that pipework the backpressure just isnt there.
