You will not feel that much of a difference, maybe 10bhp at the most :(

You may get a bit more torque but nothing that will push you back in your seat from the G-force

Its mainly for cars that are running higher boost, i.e: 1.1bar and up :!:

I have a friend that runs nearly the same amount of boost but without a front mount( 1.2bar me & 1.18 him) and when his car was being set up the company that was setting it up said that his car was detting (detonating) at 1.2bar so they lowered the boost to 1.18bar and his car was fine where as my car was set to 1.2bar and they commented that there was no detting at all and that they could have mapped it for higher boost  and the only difference between us both is that I had a front mount and he still had the old top mount

So really they are there for saftey reasons...........................oh and because the Forge intercooler looks so mean from the front  8)

I put a front mount on for the impending boost upgrade which hasn't happened (yet :p ) and I didn't notice any increase in power though the seat of my pants. The only other mods I have are filter and exhaust and these 3 mods are enough to do 13dead up the strip :D .

They are if you plan on running over a bar (maybe 1.2) of boost.

If anything it will provide a cooler inlet charge which will be more dense and therefore get more air into the engine which means more fuel in which means more power.

The trade off for a little lag will be overcome with a boost upgrade. Also the pipe run should be as smooth as possible for best airflow and lag. A short bent pipe run is no good as it is restrictive. Whenever airflow is mentioned it needs to be as smooth as possible, otherwise what is the point of porting and flowing everything that is travels down if u go and put a badly made FMIC on. This in turn creates lag.

I have run 1.2bar and managed a 12.5sec 1/4mile with my top mount. It works fine as long as u r moving. If u sit to long not moving it heats up and it is all bad. So gues it depends on what traffic is like where u live.

No, you need to be moving to get airflow to cool the charge. Sounds more like you need setting up properly.
less ignition advance, more fuel or more octane.

Saying that, when mikey had his car, he stuck an inlet temp gauge on it, with the top mount, it got really hot when in traffic, and took ages to cool down, but, i think, the fmic didnt get that hot, and cooled down very quickly (cant remember any of the figures, but it really did show what the difference was).
Ive got the sensor now, but its been in my glovebox for the past year, so its not a lot of good :? :D

im still runnin a top mount @1.18bar and it produced 328bhp when i had it on the rr,the only bad thing about it is if ive been driving for a long amount of time at low speeds,if i stop at the traffic lights and sum muppet wants a race i find it bogs down slightly as im taking off!!soon as it picks up speed though it flies!
but im biting the bullet and buying a front mount next week, just hope it isnt too laggy!!
basically i want to run higher boost effectively and the air flow just isnt good enuff with a top mount.
thats me ten pence worth
