Front jack/raising point?

What is the place to put the jack on when a guy wants to raise the front end of the car? My skid plate covers alot of the bottom area, but there is a hole in it and a mount sticking down.
Is this mount a safe place to jack, or will it ruin something?

In the centre, just forward of the front wheels should be a chunky square jacking point (as you've described basically). You can jack it up there fine.
