gear stick has come loose

driving my car today and noticed that my gear stick come very loose and moves round when its in gear. any idea

Have a look underneath the car at all the linkages you can see and check it's all tight with all bits in place, hopefully it's not an internal problem.

If you look underneath the car, on the bottom of the gear lever there should be spring that attaches to the underside of the car
