gearbox & clutch....

okey dokey...I'm in need of a new gearbox (with warranty) and clutch including fitting.

I've phoned Norris designs & powerstation and been quoted over £1500 from both!

Is there any other places I could try??

I live in the bristol area.

sounds goo price to me.
u after standard box or uprated one?
clutches go for about 250.00-350.00 for a good organic ap helix one.
fitting is about 200-300 from a few members on this site.

You havent broken another gearbox have you? :shock:

I wouldnt bother spending that much on a standard box to be honest. You'll probably only get a few months warranty anyway and it could break again when thats up (you know what these boxes are like :roll: :lol: )

I'll do it for £300 if you want :lol: :lol: :lol: I've had enough practise on mine (4 clutches and 3 gearbox changes :roll: )

If you run anything more than standard power on a standard box warranty would be void anyway.

I can't afford an uprated box at the moment to be honest!

£2k + fitting :shock:

then i got to buy a clutch (as mines been in there for 4 years) so another £300.

I put it down to the previous garage who have done my last 3 repairs on my gearbox. Because honestly, I never slam the car into gear, I've never redlined it & I been driving it like an everyday car for a longtime now & it still broke.

So it's not down to the amount of abuse i give it as i don't give it any!!
