what is your rev counter showing at 70 mph as i am beginning to think my box is the rally version :roll: :?:

In what gear? :?
If it's a rally box (RB version that is) you'll only make 130 top end. Failing that you'll need 3rd gear to get to 60.

thanks for the reply....................sorry it is fifth gear at 70mph............... i was on a private road and hit an indicated 139mph and it was sat not far off the red line. i noticed some articles in mags of R's doing top speed run hitting 155+mph i take it this is a road gearbox.

from what i've said do you think it is a rally box fitted to mine. :?:

What rpm at 70 are you doing?
Without actually checking, I'd guess mine would be doing about 4000rpm
I don't know what the std box is geared to so I can't say for certain. It could be a slightly longer geared (than mine) close ratio box, but probaby a std one.

Yeah, mine's the RB box. Only good for 130 :evil: , I need 3rd to get 60, :evil: and 4000rpm at 70 is an educated guess as to what mine would be doing

standard box is about 21mph to each 1000rpm in 5th gear IIRC so 4000rpm in 5th should be around 84mph
