Grinding noise

When I lift the clutch to take off in first gear I sometimes get a metal on metal grinding noise :shock:

The clutch is biting very high so will need replacing soon is this the cause of the noise or do I have gearbox problems as well :?:

I have the same problem. I think someone sugested the clutch release bearing was on it's way out.

and if I leave it will it do more damage :?:

if you leave it and it is the clutch bearing you will find it very had to change gear if at all.

i had same noise its pretty common and its the bearings in the box not the release bearing
my bearings collapsed and had trouble selecting gears
got a local gearbox mech to take the end case of the box and replace all bearings for £450 not bad really as he would of charged more to take the box out and replace release bearing
