GTI-R Pistons

What type of pistons does a GTI-R use?

I notice the most common performance mod on the GTI-R is 1 bar of boost which is quite a bit. I assume it comes with forged pistons rather than cast?

Wow really?

That does surprise me!

Even Ford saw fit to put forged pistons in the RS cars and they only run 7psi.

With that being the case is it OK to run 1bar boost on these and still be reliable, or should I realistically expect to replace them pretty often until I splash out £600 for some forged jobbies.

No there not forged but with the right fueling there good
for 1.2/1.4 bar of boost but the turbo wont last to long
at 1.4 bar.

1bar is fine on standard everything.

except standard clutches tend to melt quite quickly at 1bar

but that's a bit off topic eh!
