Had this done to match rocker cover

well had this powder coated to match Rocker cover!

but again they stuffed up :doh:and it seems to have a lot of grit in it any ideas on how to get it out, as a good old shake upside down is not doing the trick.

or is it a bin job :sad:which will be shame as apart from the grit they have done a super Job.

have you tried to wash it out.?. next time you get stuff done by them..ask if they can soda blast them as it easy to wash out..

do not put that on your engine, you'll end up with grit in your oil which will damage the bearings.

seen it happen all to often.

did you get the rocker cover done aswell? as that will also have grit inside the breather section

yes thats why the engine is out and being rebuilt.

learn your lesson then,don't wreck another engine,if it's been blasted and you can't 100 percent be sure it's clean of grit (which can be steel grit) why risk it!!

Put it back in and run the engine.
The grit will fall back into the sump/pan.
The big bits will be stopped by the screen on the oil pickup, and the smaller stuff will be filtered out (wouldn't that be a nice world to live in?).

Ooops. That's right. The factory oil filter is too small for the pump-flow and the resultant bypass through the valves in the oil-filter mount assembly mean that perhaps 30% of pumped oil does not even go through the filter.

If you're serious about keeping your engine alive, move to a better filtration system.

If it has grit inside bin it, like someone else said, because it has some kind of filter inside and all of the ''highly abrasive grit'' will remain there.....so therefore it wil not be a good idea to keep the oil catch tank.
