What are the benefits of fitting the 2mm head gasket :?:
Is it simply a case of lowering compression so you can run higher boost or am I way off the mark :?:
Will it raise power on its own or should it be done in conjunction with other mods?

From what I've gleamed off here and other sites,it's so you can raise boost with less risk of detonation.You'll actually lose power just doing it by itself and no boost hike.Even if you raise the boost,you'll still lose low down power. in comparison to say a 1.2mm gasket.

Yeah, in general 2mm only for highly tuned big turbo cars that need megaboost. A thicker headgasket will lower the compression ratio, car will be less responsive and efficient but also less likely to det at high boost levels.
