How do you do the turbo seals?

:?: I know how to get the turbo off but i am unsure how to do the seals can any one help? Also how much they cost for a standard turbo? :shock:

You send it away to a specialist normally as it needs to be balance to very fine tolerances when it's put back together.

if you do it yourself you need to mark the turbine, compressor wheels and shaft so it goes back together as it came apart. You should then maintain the balance as it was before it come apart,

taking turbos apart is fun :( :lol:

really your best off getting it done somewhere and have it fitted with a 360 thrust bearing at the same time.

i have had it done once and they seam to have cocked it up so i would prefer to do it myself. just been to the pub, a bit plssed.

It was a rally specialist near me. he does all scoobys etc. im going to see him on monday to see if he will re do it under warranty. :oops:

Been to the garage today and he said it could be crank case pressure and/or the piston rings. im going to check the breather pipes on saturday and see where i get from there. :roll:
