How much does a Gti-r engine weigh?

Does anybody know how much a Gti-r engine weights?

The bare engine, no manifolds/turbo/ etc etc weighs 96kg. I think with all the ancilliaries bolted on you could be upto around 130-140kg

just to add to this, whats the split in weight between the head and the block?

Short engine is 52kg, but that looks like it may only be block and rotating parts.
Head assy is 16kg without cams/valves etc by the looks of it.

That leaves a short fall of 28kg Which will be valve train/sump/etc

FAST doesn't seem to list a complete assembled head (unless I missed it)

Yes its all heavy as f*ck lol, I had to lift the bottom end into my boot on my own and its a struggle even for me, As for the transfer box and gearbox I can't lift them by myself they're just to bl00dy heavy, Vikki had to help me into the boot with them on Monday lol.

If you take them apart then yes you can lift them but not as a unit.

I remember the first time i dropped my engine to do the clutch, i separated the box and transferbox from the engine and tried to move it and then thought :shock: :shock: :shock: So thats were all the weight on the front end comes from :lol: The box and transferbox has gotta weigh more than the engine i reckon, its a lot heavier than i am too
