Hyper SR Wigan

Hey,

Hopefully taking my car to Hyper SR in wigan to get it set up with my EVC3.

Its standard boost at them mo but have fuel pump, FMIC, earthing etc to do before I get there. It is running fine atm.

Im fitting all parts and wiring the EVC but was going to leave it disconnected until i get there and let them sort it. Should I run down there with the colder plugs (Not bought yet, any recomendations plug and heat) or buy them and pop them in there.

Is there anything else i should prep on it before i go other than usual rolling road checks its just been serviced wit all oils and filters, leads, rotor arm, cap etc.

How long should i expect it to take @ £45/hr i was going to leave it there for the day so they are not rushed and get it right. What power / torque should i aim for.

Any good/bad things to say about hyper sr, pm me if you like. Any other mods that would compliment this before i go. Cheers Tony.

Spec:

WRC 130mm Pipercross filter
Bailey DV26 BOV
Straight through Mongoose
HKS EVC 3
FMIC
AP Clutch
Walbro 255
Hopefully 3" dump pipe and manifold

All silkoline fluids. And always run on optimax.

I'm saying nothing but I took my Pulsar there once and I never will again.
They don't know enough about the car and they don't like working on them as theyre quite old
If something goes wrong all they end up doing is phoning Ian @ Hiteq for help

Goto Hiteq theyre the same price and they specialise in Pulsar's and Ian and John who work there are great lads they are in Wigan also. No one in my opionion does better work than them - people travel nationwide to goto Hiteq - they are top notch.

You might have to wait a few weeks for them to fit you in but theyre sound. If its just fitting a boost controller then it should be pretty straight forward for Hyper, but like I say if anything goes wrong....

Other people might have had really good work done by Hyper, thats just my experience with them.

I was going to go there first but got told not to,
:-S they were my prefered choice as I had previously heard good things

NOW HITEQ then!!!

I havent heard anyone say a bad word about Hiteq
The only thing that people say is bad is the length of time it takes them to give you your car back if you leave it with them for an engine rebuild. They take their time and make sure they do the job right and have now sorted out their time keepng by not taking on loads of work when they can't keep up with it.

Ian even comes on these forums every now and again - i cant say enough good things about them. They are Pulsar specialists!!

Good stuff, just looked through some old posts and seen some good things about ian.

T.

*Any idea on costs then?
*Expected outputs (I will go to whatever boost is safe - Have 1.2 as a figure in my head)
*Plugs? Think ill get there as its easier.
*Any other mods that would go well before I go?

Ian will sort you out with some HKS plugs for about 60-70 quid
Get a walbro in there
FMIC is always good but not esential

If you want to run 1.2 bar you will need some bigger injectors 550's
Ian set mine at 1.1 on my standard injectors and theyre maxxed out but thats with a greddy emanage to sort the fuel
If youve just gt a walbro id just use 1 bar til you get a fuel management and bigger injectors

Clutch is a must but id use a helix organic one

1 bar will get you about 280 bhp
1.2 would get you about 320

al the mods you have mentioned are good but an emanage and 550cc injecors
if you wanna go higher than 1.2 get an uprated turbo aswell

Not true as i ran 1.2 bar on stock internals and my injectros were fine.

Every car is different and every pair of injectors are different and wear differently.

Ian will tell you if you start to max them out.

As Gray has said, Ian knows his GTiR's and IMO is the best person to map your car followed by Clive at RC.

Still waiting on some shims!
I don't want a tuner slagging match here!!...

There is no point asking about costs and timescales as each tuner has their own... Just call them and see....

I travelled up from South Wales to Wigan to have Ian ( Hiteq) work on my car, thats over 420 mile round trip and I returned to collect the car a couple of weeks later, and as far as I am concenered it was well worth it.
The car is amazing. I trust a very few people with my car and can recomend Ian with no doubts at all.
I speak as I find so as far as I am concerened will only be using Ian for my tuning in the future, my car is also used in competition not just for road use.
Cheers

  How much.!!!!!! :der: :der:

personal opinion, HKS Plugs dont last, cost WAY to much and die far to quickley    . Get yourself on http://www.spark-plugs.co.uk do a search for some NGK BKR8EIX plugs and pay the grand total of 32 quid for them

Wow that is one hell of a trip, did not realise you lived all the way up there, I used to come and race in Fintray Hillclimb years ago, was lucky I had some friends who worked for BP living there so we had a place to stay.
I agree with you about Ian's reputation well worth the drive.
Cheers
