i have a couple of questions

right before anybody shouts at me this is my first stupid questions i have asked on here :lol: :lol: i have had R my coming up a year in feb and not really had any problems with (apart from cv boot).


when im on highboost 1bar, my boost gauge is a bit erratic hovering back and forward just above or just below 1bar. i was told it could be my actuator (i have got one but not fitted yet) or i could have a boost leak. so today i had a look around for a pipe hanging off or a perished pipe, the only thing i have found is this pipe its just hanging there doing nothing what do you peeps think.

the other thing i thought it might be is my dumpvale leaking its a sheepdog one and its looking abit sorry for itself, also what is the bolt and nut for on top of it?

ah right i wont worry about that then, wot do you think about the dumpvalve then, if that was leaking would that cause erratic boost?????

i'd check all your boost controller connections - i had a similiar fault with an hks evc3 and it was a dirty connection at the loom plug nr the slam panel.

could just be the accuracy of the gauge. but hks ones are usually pretty good. i`d try another gauge and seeing what that reads.

right i had a fiddle with my boost controler today, and i think i my have sorted it.

what it does now at 1bar (ha ha) is it fly's just above 1 bar then it falls abit and holds it at 1bar.


i dont really understand this boost controller that much its got these settings for gain and all sorts of stuff.

i will need the car mapping soon at some point and i will get the boost sorted the for 1.2 if that is acceptable Kirko :)

Hi mate, did you ever get round to fitting the dump valve i lent you or have you solved these problems while keeping the sheepdog on :?: If you want to try another gauge then give me a shout cos my boost gauge and Air/fuel gauge will be coming off soon, so you should be able to plug the new boost gauge straight in. Unless i get asked to go into work this weekend i should be about if you want me to give you a look :?:
