inner cv joint

im away to do the inner cv boot but doer the shaft just pop out from thr cup on the gearbox?then is there s circlip on the end of the shaft that holds 3 spiggots with bearings onto the shaft?just that thats how it was on my old colt.

depends which side ur doing if its the passenger side its got 6 bolts holding it into the box. if its the drivers side itl just pull out with a decent tug! then yes theres circlips and wire clips galore! lol

its the drivers side.can i just pull the joint out and leave the cup on the box?

no the cup comes out of the transfer box, if jacked high enough you shouldnt lose any fluid, i could not remove the inner cv from the shaft to replace the boot so i ended up with the outer joint off and done it backwards, took a bit longer but was better than fannying about with all that grease everywhere
