Insulating the turbo…

Has anyone had there turbo (exhaust side obviously) ceramic coated?

Or maybe even used some kind of insulating wrap like the one Thermo Tec do?

Also do you know if you can get it ceramic coated if the turbo isn’t brand new? I was led to believe you can…?

When I got in touch with Camcoat-they said they wouldn't guarentee the coating(12months)on used items but would still coat it.

hell yeah...clean it up with a wire brush ....get all the rust off of it and then clean it with alcohol to get all the grease off and then send it to the coaters...they will clean it with acetone(then water to prevent corrosion) to make sure its sparkling and then coat it (least they should)

performance wise you will gain alot of efficiency and a mild amount of power by ceramic coating or heat wraping the following

exhaust manifold
turbine housing
J-pipe/dump pipe
down pipe

basically everything between the exhaust ports and cat

more heat in the exhaust means more energy, helps with exhaust gas scavenging....makes the exhaust do its job that much better
