whats the deal with painting your intercooler?
my intercooler has been painted in the past put the paint on it is starting to come off - therefore not looking so good through the mesh (as its front mount) do u have to take them apart to paint them? should they be painted at all? can you damage them by painting?
cheers

I'd be inclined to use a heat resistant paint - and matt black to aid heat transfer.

There used to be a product called Pot Black which I used on 2 stroke cylinder blocks / heads and exhausts - it even used to survive on the exhaust downpipes.

Dunno if it's still available.

??

cheers for that, not sure about brush painting an intercooler - would like it to look nice through the mesh - as painting it is for cosmetic perposes only

I'd be careful what you do if it's only for cosmetic purposes as you don't want to end up insulating the intercooler.

This would be insulating the cooler. If its heat resistant paint then when the hot boosted air goes through the cooler, the paint prevents the heat from being dissipated.

Be carefull what paint you use. It'd prob be best to get it back to metal and polish it, prob look better
