Hi im new...I had a mid life crisis and decided to buy a red sports car which was great but impractical. I thought well I'll buy a normal version or the same car yeah that was still stupid.

Thank you. A few other images....I always wanted a GTI-R and im fortunate to find myself in a position I could get the two of them and they will be cared for. The Red Rocket is feral heavily modified with high quality work while Black Beauty keeps the mostly standard model alive. Im tracking down there history a bit more and will post details soon

Been a while since the oringal post but the black ones clutch blew. Im after advice on whether I should try to find an original replacement from a breaker car or do I just put custom clutch in. Im planning on being more active soon and if anyone can let me bow about any jdm shows or meets ill bring both cars

Put a better an aftermarket clutch in the car.

If your going to increase the power in the future, a standard clutch won't cope with the increase of power.
Even if the power in over 220bhp, adding a organic performance clutch is a better investment, that going back to a OEM unit.

Helix offer a selection of clutches as direct replacements.

So Black Beauty is on hold complely. The red rocket shutdown completely i think its the fuel pump which is a Walbro replacement for the original l denso. im going to have to cut a slot in the front bumper to make a tow eye

So quick update Red Rocket actually shutdown thanks a loose spade connector on a fuse panel thst was installed in the boot when the battery was moved. Black Beauty now having the clutch replaced and unfortunately is on sale the insurance on bith is killing me

Go for classic insurance.

A Plan or Adrian Flux offers classic policy's.

I think my quote was £300 recently when I rang them last year, with most mods declared.

I can't stress this enough, don't bother adding a standard clutch.

Add at least an organic clutch that will take about 300bhp.
There's little difference in weight, but will future proof the car going forwards.

Sorry to hear about the insurance issue - I can vouch for Adrian Flux as Andy mentioned; they came through for me on my current car @ £199.50 a year all mods declared, so worth a look. Originally I thought the woman on the phone meant that amount per month!
