my car has just started doing this noise. it does it on start up for a second or 2 then it stops. then when i drive it, it starts around 2000rpm then stops when the turbo kicks in

i hate my car lol only had i 4 weeks and it f***ed

there is this comment on the vide:

its not either of those its a timing chain guide its very common take the front cover off and you'll see where the guides are and you'll find a broken one...I'll bet its on the driver side


is this true? the noise is comming from the drivers side lol

unfortunately for you that most definately sounds like a bigend knock!
and it also fits in with your description of when its happening ie at start up and around 2-3k rpm when feathering the throttle.

it dissapears when on boost as the rods are then under full load.

now heres the bad bit, you will probably 99% need to now remove the crank and get this fully sorted.
if you persist on driving it you will render the crank unservicable as you WILL spin a shell then you have major problems.
