Omex ECU's...

Hi All,

I'm thinking about getting one of these bad boys shortly...
Its the 600 model and complete stand alone.
Replaces dizzy and air flow sensor too i believe...
Has launch control etc etc...

Just wondering has anyone got/heard anything about these?

Main reason for buying is its handy to remap, a local tuner has full software and remaps with ease, have seen good results and it comes recommended.

not much more than apexi fc pro either...

mate, i suggest you to go for a better ecu...
the haltech is far better mate...
i believe that the std ecu chipped is better than the omex one...
std ecu has 16x16 load sites, while omex ecu has only 11 sites....
if you really want a stadn alone, get a motec, apexi power fc or haltech....
if not, just get your ecu chipped, save money and you have all the benifits you would have with a stand alone...

a friend has just put an Omex on his focus 1800cc with Jenvy throttle bodies, after a minor software issue its all good, and one advantage of purpous built item like these is the ability to change cells in real time on the road or dyno', And they guy from Omex gave a good after sales backup too..

My friend is well happy ( after initial teething prob's)

Mixed replies so I sent mail to tuner to ask more info.

I've seen this in use on his rollers as he was tuning it, and seemed to give good results cerrtainly good performance!

In relation to chipping standard ecu this is not really an option - think only a few tuners in uk can remap the standard ecu and its timely and costly, plus no room for re adjusting / going with new mods etc...

The omex has everything including launch control and remappable on the rollers as mentioned.

Any other feedback please lads>?

Or any probs with the Apex unit?>>?

I have the OMEX M500 on my mk1 escort zetec on throttle bodies, i fitted it and mapped it after some lessons on the rollers. Very good back up from Richard, he e mailed me some recent maps to play with top bloke, Serious toys for serious people, but i have alot of respect for nissan ecu.
once you've been down the same road i have you will know what i mean. 8)

Olly are u saying that it will cause some agro? but has better overall features/performance?
