hey all, i sold my pulsar bout 8 months back an looking to get another one jus shortly.

i went to view one today not far from me, the only question i have about this car is do all pulsars idle at 1000 - 1100 rpm when warm ? cos this one did and its bog standard etc.

still very interested in this car tho as its goin cheap cos the guy jus needs rid of it. i know the seller its my g/fs dads mate.

jus curious as to what everyone elses pulsar idles at ?

lol ive seen some idle a bit more than that, there is an idle adjustment screw but ive heard of people undoing the tps sensor and adjusting it. i'd be more concerned about how rusty the arches were and how noisy the engine was. have you had a shot of the car yet?

yeah took it a blast, drives like no other pulsar i've driven. alot betta than my 300 bhp pulsar drove.

completely standard has only done 14 miles since its mot in december 2006, does have a rusty arch but its the bit infront of the wheel, oh an the engine is sweet its quiet as hell. guy that owned it passed away an his mother gave it to the local garage to try an sell for her.

was jus wondering about the idle dont wanna buy a dunger.

Mine idles up in cold weather, to ~15-1600 rpm. Then it slowly drops down, and a running idle after the engine is warm is about 975-1000. I have heard of some as low as 800-850 and running smooth, but I'd check on here to see what most are at.

1000 - 1100 rpm is a touch high but, nothing that can't be sorted very easily and cheaply.... probably for free actually !
It sounds like a very good example and, as the rusty arch is the only real issue ?! I'd go for it, as long as the price was right.

I remember when I was first looking at the Pulsar. I test drove one down in Surrey and was not impressed with how well it went or sounded, coming from a mildly modded ST205 GT-Four. I then took the plunge and imported one and that was so much better, like night and day !

Good luck with it mate.

its advertised for 2750 its done 69000 miles dunno whats km's or mph. mot'd till decmeber 2007 its done 14 miles since its last mot. exhaust, airfilter an a nismo strut brace is the only mods. its jus had new calipers front an back an its ran out of tax.

was owned by a 30 yr old chap who passed away jus after the new year.

goin up again to see it an try my luck at haggling now jus cos i feel 2300 is a good price. as it needs a few wee things mosty tidying up.

cheers ross

Sounds good matey.
If you buy it, just drop and replace all the fluids, including petrol (if it's been in there a while, the octane rating could have dropped off a bit), and I bet it will be as good as new !

yeah i plan on giving it a good service first as i've got everything apart from spark plugs left over from my last pulsar. giving it a good oil change to, got some racing oil 10 - 50 from scotwest oils which is a local company. andy gallacher uses it for his race escort cossie so why not lol
