rain sensing windscreen wiper

I got a prob with my rear windscreen wiper, wheni first turn on the car and the rear wiper is set to off, it turns itself on and does a couple of sweeps and then is fine after that.

Any ideas why?
I have reset the battery but still the same.

Maybe the home position switch is playing up in the wiper motor?
