random temp guage

Hi i noticed today that when driving if i put my foot down the temp guage drops all the way down to where it sits when the car is off but as soon as i lift off and just cruzing it sits about half way which i think is normal, anyone have any ideas of what this could be? cheers

i had the same problem exactly on my car you will more then likely find that the connector on the sensor is either loose or broken slightly get your self a new sensor from bob and im sure it will sort it,the reason it drops when you accelerate is because the engine moves and moves the (broken)contact on the sensor slightly

It could be the wires to the sensor i lost water temp and oil temp and the wires had snaped on both of them .
