Redline MT90 Vs SILKOLENE SYN 5 75W-90

Out of these 2 oils which would you say is the one to use in the R? Both seem to come highly recommended, the Silkolene is cheaper.

This is for the gearbox and transfer boxes btw.

The Redline MT90 is very good gear oil, ester synthetic. However what would put me off is the cost, when you have even better European oils for less.

The Silkolene Syn5 75w-90 is quite a unique oil as in it has all the synchromesh friendlyness of GL4 but also has the load bearing abilitly of GL5 diff oils, so making it a good choice for gearboxes dealing with above stock BHP.

i'll need to change the oil in my box and diffs in about 6 weeks and i fancy putting some of the silkolene syn5 that you rec'd in :wink:
