Rev counter and speedo

Anybody any idea why my temp and petrol gauge and all lights work but my rev counter and speedo dont work,i have even changed clocks.I need to know as i carnt take it for M.O.T until this is done can anybody please help i am desperatehttp://www.gtiroc.com/forums/images/smilies/200/doh.gif :doh:

You might want to check the RPM and speedo signal wires from the ecu. There should be a wiring diagram about on the forum somewhere. Do a quick search !

dont know if its too late, but the speed signal comes from the sensor to the speedo than to the ecu.

now you might have a power problem since your revs arent working also. check all your power coming into the dash.

as above!
but you can still take for mot, as they will not know that the speedo isnt working, and rev counter isnt part of mot anyway!
