hello all,

i have check my ECU... all it's ok ( CODE 55 )

but , my R does not smell good!!

i have a mongoose full sytem on the car.

I made inbuilt "rich / lean" test ...

the result: RICH in load, has all the rpm's, on all the speeds

LEAN with releasing foot...

flickering RICH/LEAN with the idle .

all it's ok ??

Yes that sounds fine, but the R go to nearly 1.5v on the oxygen senor.

I am perplexed... shouldn't the indicator "check" flicker unceasingly (in load)?

indicating what does the ECU make readjustments??

As standard the R runs rich. Really very rich.

But that's better than any chance of going lean ;)

So you think you can fit an AFR gauge to see what is going on - but as mentioned above the Lambda on these cars is not standard (ooh quelle surprise!) - so all your AFR gauge does is go full rich as soon as you breath near the throttle.

To get a decent idea of what is going on you're best getting an EGT gauge - but the sensor will need tapping into the exhaust header. Ideally before the turbo for best accuracy - but some people don't like this in case it fails and wipes out the turbo. If you put it after the turbo though - it will not be as accurate as an amount of heat is absorbed by the turbo.

Can't win. :(
