rough running!

Hi i have an R and sometimes it will hesitate at half throtle. It did it last saturday and all weekend but i noticed it getting better by monday when driving to work. it had completely stoped by that night but now it has started to do it again also it seems to miss on idle and will smoke (black) i looked at the plugs and there was carbon on them but they didnt look worn out i cleaned them and refitted them and it still has the probem! any ideas very welcome thanks.

ps no management light has come on coulde there still be codes in she system tho??

Have you tried doing a fault code check to find out?

Assuming you have no boost leaks, it maybe the AFM playing up as this can cause rough running problems. Try checking the voltage at the earth and re-earth it if need be.
